HARTFORD MAKING A COMEBACK - WFSB-TV transcript - may 26, 2006

The Hartford skyline looks different today than it did just a couple years ago. Fuller, more complete, with new apartment buildings like Hartford 21 going up and older buildings filling up.

waiting list to get in.

"We've had a tremendous increase in demand in all of our properties and we're very excited about it," says David.

Apartments in the city go from anywhere around six or seven hundred dollars to six thousand dollars a month. That's if you want one of the new penthouses at Hartford 21 and yes, there's a waiting list for those as well.

So who's moving to the city? It's a mixed bag to be sure, but David says that's part of the reason Hartford is making such a strong a comeback.

"I just think the awareness and the positive spirit that's here is really attracting people."

How much of a comeback has Hartford made? David says all of the apartment buildings downtown are at or above 95% capacity.
